Trauma-Sense Level 2: Becoming Trauma-Informed for Doctors

Having completed Level 1 of the Trauma-Sense Programme, you may choose to continue with Level 2 ‘Becoming Trauma-Informed for Doctors’ to further bolster your skills and deepen your clinical confidence when dealing with patients who have a trauma history.

In this 9-week programme, taught LIVE, you will deepen your understanding of psychological trauma & how to apply this understanding in your practice through a combination of teaching and experiential case-work.

Trauma-Sense Level 2 will always be capped at small numbers, to ensure a safe space to deeply explore these topics in relation to ourselves and clients. The next cohort starts on 19th May 2026.

Four LIVE 90 minute training modules with Q&A covering topics including:

  • Deepening the understanding of the impact of psychological trauma on the body, brain and behaviour

  • Trauma & the body, an exploration of the Polyvagal theory

  • Collective trauma, transgenerational trauma and epigenetics

  • Trauma, highly sensitive people, neurodiversity

  • How trauma impacts attachment and the relation to our authenticity

  • Using a somatic approach in trauma-informed consultations

Three interactive 90 minute clinical workshops:

  • During these workshops you will have the opportunity to work through specific cases and examples - brought by the group - and learn how to put the teachings into practice. Please note that client confidentiality will be maintained throughout.

  • Two out of three workshops are compulsory to attend live to ‘pass’ the programme

Two 30 minute 1:1 calls:

  • for Q&A, case reflection and feedback.

To complete the programme, you will need to complete a 1500 word assignment based on a client case-study demonstrating your understanding of a trauma-informed approach and your ability to apply this in your work.

As a participant in Level 2 of the Trauma-Sense Programme - ‘Becoming Trauma-Informed for Doctors’, you will also have access to a dedicated WhatsApp group to share and ask questions.

Outcomes:

There are the expected outcomes of being more confident in being able to recognise the behaviours, and physical/mental health impacts of psychological trauma in your patients. You will gain tips on managing situations with patients as they arise during consultations.

As a consequence, you will be able to support your patients fully - be able to unlock self sabotaging behaviour and get incredible results for your patients - which previously may have seemed out of reach.

The unexpected outcomes are the personal growth. People join the Trauma-Sense programme for professional growth but all who have participated in the programme have fed back on the huge impacts in their personal life: a deep understanding of themselves, with positive knock-on impacts with their relationships, both personal and professional. They have more compassion for patients, less shame around stress and overwhelm, and better boundaries.

Please note:

This programme is not in place of medical care - if you are unwell, please seek support through the usual channels. See below for links.

This is a professional development training- which yes, has the potential to impact individuals, but is designed specifically for coaches and wellbeing professionals to enhance their work and become Trauma-Informed.
